CAPE TOWN
DIGITAL SANGOMA
Where Heritage Meets the Urban Pulse
[BIOGRAPHY]
Digital Sangoma is an Afro-electronic curator, producer, and live performer based in Cape Town, crafting sound experiences rooted in African heritage and designed for global stages.
Blending Afro House, alternative dance, traditional chants, live percussion, and soulful vocals, his sound carries the spirit of the village into modern club culture — raw, intentional, and emotionally charged. As he states, “This is what my village sounds like.”
His performances move fluidly between intimate luxury settings and large-scale festivals, delivering immersive journeys that merge electronic precision with organic rhythm. Live percussion and vocals are not embellishments — they are foundations, grounding each set in authenticity while elevating it for contemporary dance floors.
Through the Umtsho experience, Digital Sangoma bridges ancestral rhythm and global movement culture, positioning African sound not as influence, but as origin.
He has performed across Africa and Europe, including appearances at Bushfire Festival (Eswatini), Spitzkop Festival (Namibia), and curated underground platforms in the Netherlands. His collaborations include work with One People under Defected Records, with an upcoming release via Bridges For Music.
Digital Sangoma represents a new generation of Afro-electronic storytelling — refined, rooted, and internationally resonant.
