Live Experience
During the performances Mathousand16 blends DJ sets with live elements, including trumpet which is usually stemming from the arrangements of his original music. It is designed as a communal experience—where rhythm leads, sound breathes, and the audience becomes part of the performance which is a shared ritual rooted in movement, presence, and ancestral rhythm.

The Roots:
I was born in a small village called Slobela in Ndebele land. I moved to Bulawayo for my secondary studies, where my love for music grew stronger. I was inspired by my late brother—a rapper and producer—whose passion sparked something in me. In 2008, I moved to Cape Town to pursue a career in music.

The Sound:
My music serves as a sonic exploration of my life experiences. I invite you to embark on a captivating journey through the medium of dance, incorporating elements of Ingoma—an homage to the rich traditions of African drumming, chanting, and dance.

This is my calling, my purpose. I invite you to take this journey with me.
